General Updates on Life/NEBRASKA!

I am stuck in the computer lab until 2, and theres nobody in here, and I got tired of homework, so I figured I would write a little update for those (Jessica) who care to read.

I leave for Nebraska at appx. 2:15pm. Lil J is coming to the lab sometime to pick up the key to my house, for she will be residing there whilst we are away. The only condition is that she feed and scoop the poop of Robin Sparkles. I'm sure it will be an exciting experience for her. We have a wide variety of DVD's and breakfast cereals.

So I will be in Omaha, Nebraska unti Monday afternoon. If something exciting happens (I eat a lot of FREE food), I will post about it. If I find something awesome with a Husker logo on it, I will buy it, and if I cannot buy it, I will take a picture of it and make a lovely Facebook album. What do I expect from this trip? A lot of gloating about how awesome my little cousin is and how shes going to be successful, blah blah blah. Yipee. I don't mind - I will sit back and freeload like its nobodys business. I'm in college, bitches, and although I may still live at home, I cannot pass up the opportunity to eat as much as I want for free, watch television for free, and take the longest shower in the world for free. Not to mention I can try to get my dad to buy things for me, such as clothing items, or just Husker accessories (hey dad, remember when I made the Dean's List and was generally the most awesome and underappreciated daughter ever???? I DO!)

Here is a list of all the things I'm looking forward to on my trip, and hope to document:

1. SEVEN HOUR CAR RIDE with the dad's wife.
What will be said?? Will we stop by every Starbucks we see along the way??
2. Fox News on EVERY television 24/7.
F*ck Murdoch, I'm not putting up with that sh*t.
3. Me (democratic, Obama supporting poli sci major) + Grandpa (republican anti femanist racist) = GOOD TIMES.
What will Grandpa say?? I want to hear him talk about Hillary and Barack. Man, the blogs I will write when I get to experience him watching the "news"! (See how I put news in quotations? It's because he watches Fox)
4. Graduation.
I hope someone trips/shows up wasted. Keep your fingers crossed!
5. Graduation party + my uncle bringing booze = family time in Nebraska.
Follow up stories to come on Sunday evening
6. FREE FOOD.
This is why I love graduations - people buy enough food to feed a tiny war ravaged country. Who is going to eat it all? ME. I'm going to clean out that veggie tray like you would not believe. Food is uber expensive these days (much like gas- $4.09, Exxon??? REALLY?? And you're not price gouging?), so if people feel the need to stock up, who am I to waste their investment? And all of that cake. They are sure to have plenty left over. I will be sure to let them know that I have lots of friends who have no food and no place to live (I'm slightly concerned with the amount of people that I know who are homeless at the present time). Hopefully I can bring back some leftovers for everyones (my) enjoyment.
7. My grandparents wanting to take us out to eat for every meal.
It is inevitable. They love Cracker Barrel and Ruby Tuesdays, and they aren't ashamed of it. High cholestorol much? Yes. Good thing I'm fasting for most of Saturday to save room for Sunday's feast of vegetables and cake (I believe it was Benjamin Franklin who once said "A vegetable tray and cake does an excellent meal make." I saw it on the History Channel this morning.
8. RANDOM OBJECTS WITH HUSKER LOGOS ON THEM.
What will I find this time???? Last time, the big prize was the Husker LEATHER SOFA. I hope I can stop by a Red Zone at some point (which shouldn't be hard to do, they have them on every corner, much like gas stations only awesomer). I am going to try to find fun things to bring back, but as I am low on cash, I can't make any guarantees (I will attempt to purchase any drinking paraphernalia I find, as I'm sure they are the items that will be most useful). I really hope I can find the Husker hammock while I'm out there. I think it's a necessary item for our house, to be sure.

That list was a lot longer than I had anticipated it to be. I guess I'm pretty excited to go. I haven't been out there in over a year and a half. I kinda miss Husker Nation. You really appreciate it more once you've been away for a while.

In other short news: Dr. Theising is pretty cool. Anyone who can make a 3 hour class bearable and actually somewhat enjoyable is okay in my book.

Kendyl On The Dean's List??? What??

Yea. I'm totally on it. 3.5, bitches. I hope this pattern continues throughout the summer and subsequent final semesters of my undergraduate career. That'd b great. Too bad the semester I got into my accident f*cked me over. Oh well, IM SMART! woo!

Reporting From the Lab, Day 2

It is 10 36 a.m. on a Tuesday. It is still officially summer. There are FOUR people in the lab. I still want to watch my dvd's, but can I ? No. Because there are FOUR people in the lab. And no Billy Blanks today. Side bar: yesterday he was talking to some girl about what he was doing - he was working on some brief thing for the military. BADASS. I wish I could say I was doing something awesome like that, but I can't. Instead, I am making a blog about how there are FOUR people in the computer lab on a RAINY TUESDAY morning AFTER school is out.

Yesterday I downloaded every free trial of Risk that I could on my computer. I hope to find more today, because that game is addicting. I suck at it, hardcore, to be sure, but I'm sure I will figure out a good strategy sooner or later.

Also, West Virginia today. Clinton will take it. Does it matter? Not really, no. She is still losing. And will continue to do so right up to the convention. WOO BARACK!

Reporting From the Lab...

It is 9 39 a.m. on Monday, May 12th, 2008. It is officially summer. I am in the computer lab, "working". There are THREE PEOPLE in the lab right now. Bitches, clear out - I need to catch up on Gossip Girl! Don't they understand???? I also brought Night at the Museum to watch. Although I have seen this movie many times, I felt the need to watch it again, and capitalize on all the special features that DVD's have to offer.

Side bar: Jessica, Billy Blanks is in the lab right now. I know you know who I'm talking about. I haven't seen him in forever!! I hope he is still here next semester and is in one of our classes. That would be AWESOME.

For those of you who don't know, there is a student in the poli sci department who I liken to Billy Blanks. Whenever he talks, you are motivated to either A. run 10 miles on a treadmill or B. go after the commies. Seriously, it's THAT motivational. If he went into business he could sell ANYTHING. It's pretty cool. Anyway, thats all for right now. If anything else happens in the lab, I'll be sure to let you all (Jessica) know.

Other sidebar: why are all of my friends in Europe right now???? Life isn't fair. I have $20 dollars to my name.

Fin?

So, Barack took NC, as expected, and Clinton took Indy - but by 2%! 20,000 votes. BIG WIN, HILLARY CLINTON. Is this thing prepared to be wrapped up? I sure hope so - Gobama, go!

Indiana and NC - Please End This Crazy Sh*t

When was the last election where primaries went this far? Honestly. This has GOT to end, and I'll be damned if it ends at convention. I think after this election is over, we are going to see a change in the Democratic party's primary process - especially if this does get decided by the superdelegates. It's a stupid idea to begin with, to be quite honest. (Another stupid idea: charging $25632523 for parking tickets to college students. I'm talking to you, SIUE!)

I just sneezed. Anyway, I just want to see someone *cough*Barack*cough* get the nomination already. I'm tired of listening to the two of them bicker, I'm tired of seeing all of this bullsh*t about Reverend Wright, I'm tired of John McCain whispering about his days as a POW during WWI. And I think that everyone else will feel the same way around Octoberish, if they don't already.

On another note: yesterday I wrote my anthro paper in a half hour. It was about a unicorn named Felix who comes to earth in order to evaluate our language policy, and Earth only has two languages - Chinese and English. Other characters involved include Beorge Gush and Orack Boama. And things catch on fire. That's an A+ if I ever saw one.
